The counselor is usually the first point of contact for potential RTI/C students, providing career counseling for potential and enrolled students. The counselor is responsible for disseminating information about RTI/C and its programs through presentations, tours, videos, course description materials, and classroom activities.

The counselor also provides personal counseling to enrolled students
 to assist students with personal issues, academic problems, and college and career planning. Additionally, the counselor keeps a list of community and regional resources available for the various needs of the student population.

Below are some of the annual coordinated activities:

  • Disseminates information about RTI/C and its programs through presentations, tours, videos, course description booklets, and classroom activities.
  • Uses individual or group counseling sessions to help students with career planning, academic problems, college or tech school enrollment, military enlistment, and job placement.
  • Works with area sending high school counselors and administrators to coordinate the educational progress of each student.
  • Assists RTI/C instructors with job preparation training exercises.
  • Keeps a list of community and regional resources available for various needs of student population and parents.
  • Provides career information, occupational trends, and salary information to students exploring their futures.
  • Assists students with completing their FAFSA ID and FAFSA.
  • Assists students with the enrollment process for Dual Credit and Articulation.
