Learning Center

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Learning Center of Rolla Public Schools is located at Rolla Technical Center. We serve Rolla High School students that are in need of an alternative form of education outside the traditional high school setting.

There are numerous reasons as to why a particular student may need this type of setting and the Learning Center strives to meet the educational needs of each individual student. These reasons include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • credit recovery
  • chronic absenteeism
  • young parenting
  • work schedules
  • family issues
  • social issues
  • legal issues
  • health concerns
  • early graduation requirements
  • HiSET Prep in the Missouri Options Program
  • simply the earning of additional credits

Our primary goals are to keep Rolla High School students enrolled in and attending school, working towards high school credit and earning a high school diploma. The environment of The Learning Center manages students working independently on courses needed for credit recovery or on HiSET Preparation in the MO Options Program. Enrollment is dependent upon RHS counselors and administrators in consultation with The Learning Center Director. All student enrollment is voluntary.
