Transition Services

The Transition Services Coordinator is responsible for providing educational assistance to students with disabilities in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. The Coordinator is the link between the student with a disability and their individual IEP or 504 case manager. The Coordinator ensures the accommodations identified in the student's IEP or 504 plan are available. The Coordinator may also be a source of information for the parents regarding a student with a disability by:

  • Attending IEP and 504 meetings
  • Assisting students in appropriate class selection.
  • Serving as a liaison between the technical school and the sending schools to enhance communications and insure success to students.
  • Assisting CTE classroom instructors with curriculum modifications to enable students with disabilities to have an equal opportunity for success by describing accommodations and how they fit into the specific CTE courses.
  • Monitoring student progress in CTE classes on a regular basis (usually monthly) or at designated progress up-date times.
  • Describing accommodations and how they fit into the specific CTE courses.
  • Providing students with academic support relative to CTE courses

Please feel free to contact me for more information, for a tour of our programs, or for an individual meeting for prospective students and their parents.
