Pathways to Engineering offers five sequenced courses for high school students. These challenging courses use project-based, hands-on experience to teach students the key elements and skills of engineering and technology-based careers.
PLTW Engineering classes:
- Principles of Engineering
- Introduction to Engineering Design
- Civil Engineering & Architecture
- Aerospace Engineering
- PLTW Capstone
Pathways to Computer Science began at RTIC in the 24-25 school year. At this time, RTI/C offers two PLTW courses in this pathway:
- Computer Science Essentials
- Computer Science Principles

This school year marks my 32nd year as a secondary teacher and 14th year teaching PLTW Engineering at the Rolla Technical Institute (RTI.) I did retire at the end of my 30th year teaching, BUT I couldn’t stay away, and I am currently a full-time sub, teaching PLTW Engineering part time, 3 hours a day, at RTI.
