Automotive Technology is a 2-year program offering instruction in auto shop safety, tools and equipment, engine fundamentals, engine reconditioning, engine performance, chassis, front end, brake systems, Fuel Systems I and II, engine tune-up, electrical systems, repair orders, and cost estimates. East Central College offers dual credit for Automotive Technology students.
Areas of Study:
First year students will cover basic automotive theory and systems as well as maintenance and light repair. Second year students will get further training in diagnostics and repairs.

Mr. Daharsh was a Certified Ford Technician for 15 years and then branched out to Chrysler. He's been fully certified with Chrysler for the last 12 years and maintains that status currently. He came to RTI/C with 36 years of knowledge in the automotive industry which he uses to instruct students.

Mr. Brookshire is a former Ford and Lincoln Technician with over 25 years of experience in the dealership. During that time, he was a Senior Master Technician with Ford Motor Company. Currently, he is a Master ASE Certified Technician with ASE certifications in Advanced Level Diagnostics, Undercar Specialist, ASE Maintenance and Light Repair, Light Duty Vehicle Diesel Engines and other certifications in Medium/Heavy Duty Diesel trucks through ASE. He has been teaching at RTI/C for almost two decades now.
