Increasing demands for better trained private, municipal and governmental involvement in fire prevention and suppression fields. The implementation of more career fire departments in formerly volunteer-protected areas has provided an increase in the demand for entry- level firefighters.
Potential positions include: Firefighter, rescue worker, fire loss investigator, fire prevention technician, fire systems technician, hazardous materials control workers, fire equipment operator, emergency services dispatcher, and EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) to name a few.
